Today was a good day on path! Finally figured out how to play the allosaurs- the fr is only good against other apexes. Anything smaller than them can tail ride them to death! Of course they’re better in pairs or larger groups like any game seems to have them but!!! We too down a giga!!!! Also they removed the blue swatch for my fave skin so now Ret’s just… grey. Gonna have to look for a new skin.

I get why people use black or darker colors in dinosaur games- easier to hide- but where’s the fun in that?! Have some boldness in your character design! Boldness in your play style!

A little different from what I normally post but I’ve been on an art shlump.

So I’ve just been playing a lot of Ark (my favourite game) so I drew a Dino and made a dossier for it which I’ll submit for the creature vote in the future

I’m watching Jurassic Park with my brother and every single time I rewatch this movie I’m reminded painfully of how this is a theme park and they really don’t care about the animals welfare beyond making sure they stay attractive.

Like just the raptor scenes at the beginning, let’s break down my thought process for that as someone in the zoo world.

So, the problem is the raptors keep attacking the fence, trying to escape. A happy, healthy, mentally stable animal does not attack fences. They just don’t. So the question then becomes what is causing them to attack the fence? What is the stressor pushing them to feel the need to do this?

Are they scared? Is the enclosure perhaps under a helicopter route or near some other busy place with machines that could be scaring them?

Are they in pain? Is there a plant or animal or other environmental factor causing them to be hurt?

Are they bored? Is there enough enrichment to keep these super intelligent animals occupied and entertained?

As each stressor is ticked off the list you can narrow down what is causing these problems until you find the source, at which point it can be addressed. Once it’s addressed, it’s more than likely the animals will stop attacking the fences because their needs are being met and the enclosure is now a good place of peace/safety/entertainment instead of a bad place of fear/pain/boredom.

I have so many thoughts about how the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies are treated, and just as many about how the tragedies of the parks could have been prevented.

Im so grateful for all the amazing people in Flying Bark for giving me the oppurtunity to animate on most of the shots here. Ive also got to pose, clean up and inbetween some which was a wonderful experience for me.

Devil wasnt singing when we were animating this, it really cracked me up when I heard the official audio for the first time! 🤣

they (s-f sibs) would draw on each other's shoes, skin with pens and markers but mostly pens because those are cheap

or those glitter pens for drawing some silly doodles

(Meg would use a white ballpoint pen to draw butterflies (and small flowers, and suns, and dinosaurs, and bees) on Lester's scars; they would be a little wobbly and ugly because why would she know how to draw butterflies her dummy just needs something to hold onto and she can't lose him but oh gods he would be smiling after that and that's good).
